The duo GODFLESH, Justin K Broadrick and Ben Green, reinforced by Machines, is considered a central authority in the world of 'heavy' music and has influenced entire cultures of heavy music since the band's formation in 1988. The band is seen as a cultural icon, and their influence is felt across generations of heavy music, both in the mainstream and underground. They are considered one of the first bands to blend old British industrial music with downtuned, primitive minimal metal, inadvertently pioneering the 'industrial metal' sound, but the band has much more to offer than what this term suggests.
