"Sounds of the universe - The 12 Singles" LP de Depeche Mode

Sony Music Entertainment will release Sounds Of The Universe | The 12' Singles, a new deluxe box set from their successful Collector's Edition, on August 4th. The set includes seven maxi-singles on Vinyl featuring the songs Wrong, Peace, and the double-A-side Fragile Tension/Hole To Feed. It also includes B-sides, remixes, dub versions, and other recordings from the time when the twelfth Depeche Mode album, Sounds Of The Universe, was released in April 2009 by Mute Records.

Sounds Of The Universe | The 12' Singles offers an exciting mix of captivating radio, dance, and dub mixes of original Depeche Mode tracks. Three of the discs in the box set (Discs Two, Four, and Seven) have been newly compiled for this edition. They include tracks that were released as CDs and maxi-singles in the year of the album's initial release.

Dave Gahan, Martin Gore, and Andrew Fletcher enlisted the services of Ben Hillier for the recordings of Sounds Of The Universe for the second time. He had previously worked as a producer on their previous album, Playing The Angel, and had explored the band's sonic possibilities. With Sounds Of The Universe, the band continued the tradition of releasing a selection of songs on spectacular maxi-singles in addition to the album release.

Since their early days, Depeche Mode has embraced the 12' format and fully exploited its innovative possibilities. Maxi-singles were perfect for exploring new sounds, and the larger cover provided a great space for exciting visual experiments. DM fans loved these records, as each one featured special versions of the songs.
