The Clockworks from Ireland, based in London, combine pop sensibility with loud styles influenced by post-punk and rock. The songs on their debut album appear boastful and gloomy, but have an epic-nostalgic quality. Thematically, EXIT STRATEGY oscillates between emotions, irony, and sincerity, soul searching and a winking finger gesture. The Clockworks combine poetic self-observation with witty kitchen drama to create something intense yet playful. Recorded at Abbey Road Studios and Love Electric with the production prowess of Bernard Butler (Suede), it is released independently on the band's own label, Life And Times Recordings.
