After taking a break for three years, Robert Plant finally presents his new studio album ‘Carry Fire’. He’s taken his tried-and-tested team from his ‘Lullaby...’ album, in the form of keyboardist John Baggot, guitarists Justin Adams and Liam ‘Skin’ Tyson, as well as drummer Dave Smith, and integrated other, slightly exotic instruments like the t’bal, the bendir (North-African drums) and the oud (an Arabic lute) into the composition. This makes this work truly spectacular, unusual and a joy to listen to. What’s more, Robert Plant and the Space Shifters welcome some special guests into the studio. This includes Chrissie Hynde, who sings a duet with Plant on ‘Bluebirds Over The Mountain’, a track originally written by rockabilly legend Ersel Hickey and later recorded by both Richie Havens and the Beach Boys.
