Después de años de espera la emocionante actuación de Nirvana en "MTV Unplugged" está por fin disponible en DVD. "MTV Unplugged In New York" (Geffen / MTV Networks / Ume) del 16 de Noviembre contiene la actuación al completo, 66 minutos sin cortes, incluyendo las no emitidas "Something In The Way" y "Oh Me". Como extra en "MTV Unplugged In New York" 5 grabaciones inéditas de los ensayos del concierto, así como entrevistas con la banda y público.
El 18 de Septiembre de 1993 en los Sony Music Studios, un show emitido en 14 de Diciembre de 1993, solo meses antes de la trágica muerte de Kurt Cobain. El DVD, "MTV Unplugged In New York" en Dolby Stereo y en 5.1 surround. La versión corta fue la emitida por la MTV. El "MTV Unplugged In New York" apareció en CD en Noviembre de 1994 subiendo al número 1 de las listas y obteniendo el Grammy Award al Best Alternative Music Album además del alcanzar el platino por cinco veces.
El DVD ha sido añadido al MTV News "Bare Witness", con entrevistas a la banda, público y empleados de MTV. también como bonus grabaciones de "Come As You Are", "Polly," "Plateau," "Pennyroyal Tea" y "The Man Who Sold the World".
